Exhibition - From London to the White Continent: Cooperation, Science and Climate Action.
When: Thursday, February 26, 2026, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Where: Graduate Centre Foyer, Mile End
Discover what environmental research really looks like—from monitoring upland waters and biodiversity in rivers and forests to exploring how wild bees respond to climate change. The exhibition highlights research in Environmental Science, Ecology, and Conservation run at QMUL’s Centre for Biodiversity and Sustainability. It also includes a striking case study from a different continent that places this work in a global context. Supported by the British Antarctic Survey, the display features photographs from the Vernadsky Antarctic research base. With hands-on activities for younger visitors and a unique Antarctic postcard to take home, there is something for everyone.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how environmental research is carried out and why it matters locally and globally. They will gain insights into ecosystems, climate change, and biodiversity, feel inspired by real-world scientific work, and develop a deeper appreciation of the natural world and its future.
