The Magic of Microbes: Invisible Life, Real-World Impact

When: Monday, February 23, 2026, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Where: Bancroft 1.01.1, Mile End

What if some of the most powerful climate solutions are happening at a scale we can’t even see? Join us for an interactive workshop exploring the hidden world of microbes — tiny organisms that play a huge role in our health, our food, and the planet.

Led by Rokiah Yaman, Managing Director of MadLeap, this session brings sustainability into everyday life. MadLeap works with communities to turn challenges like food waste and soil health into practical solutions that benefit people and the environment.

Together, we’ll explore how microbes affect gut health, why healthy soil matters for the food we eat, how food waste can be transformed into something useful, and simple actions we can all take. This is a lively, welcoming space to ask questions, share ideas, and discover how small, invisible processes can lead to real change.
