New Reuse Scheme
Queen Mary’s Sustainability Team is delighted to launch a new Reuse Scheme in partnership with our printing provider, Apogee, helping to reduce waste, support the University’s circular economy ambitions, and save money for colleagues.
Why are we introducing this scheme?
Colleagues told us that poster deliveries often arrived in cardboard tubes that were recycled immediately after use, only for new tubes to be purchased and delivered with future orders. This presented a simple opportunity to reduce unnecessary resource use and costs.
How does it work?
If you order a poster to Mile End or Whitechapel*, your delivery tube will be labelled with a sticker asking you to return it for reuse.
Dedicated collection bins are now available in campus post rooms. Rather than placing delivery tubes in the recycling, simply return them to one of these bins. Apogee will collect the tubes and reuse them for future Queen Mary deliveries.
As an added benefit, Apogee has waived the charge for these tubes, creating further savings for colleagues.
