Dr Falco Pfalzgraf was invited to speak on “Linguistic Purism as a Controversial Discourse: Neopurist Tendencies in Germany since 1990” at the international conference Language History as Contemporary History since 1990, held on 6 November 2025 in Trier, Germany. All costs were kindly covered by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Professor Martin Wengeler, Principal Investigator of the multi-year research project Controversial Discourses (Kontroverse Diskurse), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), invited Dr Falco Pfalzgraf to present his paper “Linguistic Purism as a Controversial Discourse: Neopurist Tendencies in Germany since 1990” (Sprachpurismus als kontroverser Diskurs: Neopuristische Tendenzen in Deutschland seit 1990).
The invitation was for the three-day international conference Sprachgeschichte als Zeitgeschichte seit 1990. Zwischenbilanz der DFG-Forschungsgruppe ‘Kontroverse Diskurse’ (Language History as Contemporary History since 1990: Interim Report of the DFG Research Group ‘Controversial Discourses’), held at Trier University in Germany. Dr Pfalzgraf delivered his presentation on 6 November 2025.
