Comparative Literature

Join our vibrant Comparative Literature community to explore global literatures, connect with other arts, and expand your literary and cultural horizons.

Our BA in Comparative Literature allows you to explore a range of works from different time periods, genres and languages. You’ll study literatures from around the world, expanding your literary and cultural horizons and thinking deeply about cultural diversity. You’ll be taught by multilingual experts who specialise in the literatures of Western and Eastern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean and South Asia.  

You’ll also examine links between literature and other art forms, including music, film, popular culture and visual arts. The analytical ability and sophisticated reading and writing skills you will acquire in the degree will make you highly competitive on the job market, especially with employers who value clear communication, critical thinking and cultural awareness.
