Taking an English degree at Queen Mary encourages you to read in exciting new ways. You’ll become a more thoughtful, thorough, and active reader, someone who thinks intelligently about both the ways writers have chosen to represent the world, and our own role as literary critics in reading, interpreting, and engaging with their work.

The core skills in analysis, criticism, and written expression you develop on this course will make you highly attractive to a range of employers, particularly those who prioritise strong communication and creative thinking.
