Embedded in the East End’s artistic hub, our Department of Film is one of the most prestigious UK centres for screen theories practice where students not only create but curate and critique films.

We use film analysis and filmmaking to reframe global societal issues, leading multi-disciplinary work spanning subjects from philosophy, medicine and politics. Home to acclaimed academics and cutting-edge research facilities, including the fully accessible BLOC cinema suite and inter-disciplinary Centre for Film and Ethics, we attract the most exciting filmmakers and thinkers of the day.
