As part of CCLS activities in Paris, we are very excited to invite applications for our seminar on Advocacy in Commercial Disputes which will take place on 19th March 2026, at the premises of ULiP, near Invalides, Paris.
This one-day seminar provides practical guidance on developing advocacy skills for commercial disputes. The seminar starts by considering the theory of persuasion before going on to examine some key advocacy skills. The seminar covers written advocacy, oral advocacy, and cross-examination, all of which are fundamental to effective commercial litigation and arbitration. The seminar is interactive, incorporating practical exercises and plenty of discussion.
The seminar will be given by David Pope. David practised as a commercial barrister in London for over 20 years. He is now a teaching fellow at Queen Mary's Centre for Commercial Law Studies in London, where his module on advocacy is one of the most popular on the LLM programme. He also trains practising commercial lawyers on advocacy skills and civil procedure.
This seminar is designed legal professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of advocacy within the context of commercial dispute. As places are limited, early application is strongly encouraged. Please register by 10th March 2026 via the button above.
An administrative fee applies as follows: £120 for professionals and £100 for QMUL alumni.
