CCLS Energy Law alumni and students gathered for a forum event at the Law Society in London.

We were delighted to host our first Alumni Club event last month at The Law Society, in Chancery Lane, London and to welcome back so many of our past graduates.

Professor James Dallas, Executive Director of the Institute in his welcome explained that the gathering will be the first of many where we will bring our alumni together for talks and events. “We are creating the opportunity for our alumni to network and share ideas. Through bringing together our 305 alumni, now based in 28 different countries, we are building a strong community, that supports our graduates and students. Most future events will be hybrid ones allowing the widest possible participation from our alumni.

The evening began with a forum on "The Ever Increasing Interest of Energy & Climate Change Law " and introduced by one of our LLM students Nikos Tsironis.

We were delighted to welcome Nigel Pleming KC, 39 Essex Chambers who chaired the discussion and whose participation was much appreciated by all.

It was a lively and interesting discussion amongst our panel that included our alumni:

Pablo Sobarzo - Alfredo de Jesús O. - Litigation and Arbitration

Danica Jankovic - Student & Consultant Regional Center for Environmental Law (RCEL)

Lourenço Limão Oliveira - Clifford Chance LLP

Tayfun Yildiz- Q Legal, CCLS

It was a very enjoyable evening and we received encouraging feedback.

“I had such a great time, and most importantly, I learnt a lot. It was a brilliant experience to meet and connect with the inspiring alumni and to hear their perspectives.”

“I truly enjoyed the discussion and would be very happy to contribute to any future initiatives of the Institute as well.”

“Thank you again for organising such a thoughtful evening.”
