Speaker: Bianca Déprés, LLB, JD and LLM, General Counsel, Resolute Mining Limited

Ms Bianca Déprés is a corporate lawyer who joined Resolute in 2022 and in January 2025 was appointed as the Company’s General Counsel. Prior to joining Resolute, Ms. Déprés practiced for years at leading international law firms in the general energy and natural resources space.She has broad experience in a wide range of matters in the sector including M&A, projects, regulatory and corporate advisory.

Content will cover:

  • Navigating legal and commercial decision‑making in jurisdictions that are politically and operationally sensitive, particularly when events unfold quickly and information is incomplete.
  • The role of in‑house counsel in balancing legal risk, business continuity and stakeholder expectations during periods of disruption.
  • Reflections on career development in international in‑house practice, including what I might tell a “junior self” about resilience, judgment and adaptability.
