This event would explore the relationship between art, NFTs, and contemporary forms of generative practice. It would consider NFTs not merely as digital certificates, but as an additional layer through which questions of authorship, ownership, and creative control are articulated in contemporary art. In that context, the discussion would reflect on how generative art and generative AI challenge established ideas of originality and creative agency, and why distinctions between these forms matter when assessing copyright ownership. Bringing together perspectives from art, law, and technology, the event would examine how the NFT layer interacts with works produced through generative and AI-driven processes, shaping understandings of ownership and value without altering the underlying nature of the creative act.
