The Art of Conferenc-ing: Mastering the Room and a Tylney-style Mini Conference
When: Friday, December 5, 2025, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Where: Queen Mary University of London, 4 Newark St, London E1 2AT

Attending arbitration conferences can be energizing, inspiring … and yes, a little intimidating. Whether it is navigating the networking breaks or finding the courage to speak up in a room full of experts, we have all been there.
This interactive session equipped us with practical tools to make the most of every conference experience. In the first part, we shared insider strategies to help you communicate confidently, connect authentically, and make your voice heard. Then, in the second part, we put those techniques into action right away, because the best way to learn is by doing, with a Tylney style session hosted by the LCIA.
The session was co-hosted by Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and the Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG), with an impressive list of panellists including QMUL professors from the School of International Arbitration, YIAG Co-Chairs, and the President of the LCIA Court.
