We are delighted to welcome Mr Oktay Şener, senior lawyer and Managing Partner of Aksan Law Firm (Istanbul), who will share his insights on working as a Turkish lawyer with international clients, and on his learning from building a broad, international client base. In particular, Mr Şener will speak about:
- Learning how to operate successfully in jurisdictions with different legal frameworks (Common Law and Civil Code).
- Examples of different approaches needed when working on international matters – and cross-jurisdictional issues ranging from arbitration to enforcement of judgements.
- His reflections on how he developed his international network and practice as a Turkish lawyer.
- Skills for the future which young lawyers can develop to maximise their career opportunities internationally.
