Adnan Ashraf is a social work scholar and practitioner with over 14 years of interdisciplinary experience across child protection systems, criminal justice, gender justice, disability inclusion and statutory social welfare practice. His work focuses on child protection, sexual offending, institutional responses to harm and gendered power relations in patriarchal contexts, drawing on socio-ecological and integrated theories of sexual offending. He contributes to social work education through field practicum training and supervision of BSW/MSW students. His research is informed by faith-based, anti-colonial, and transformative learning frameworks and is grounded in ethnographic and phenomenological methods, supported by advanced qualitative research training from the University of Calgary. He is engaged in international research collaborations, including the Transforming Masculinities and Muslim Masculinities projects, with ongoing interests in penal policy, institutional reform, masculinities and gender justice.
