Rebeca Cruz is a Doctoral Researcher at Loughborough University, School of Architecture, Building, and Civil Engineering (ABCE). She has an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA (Hons) in International Politics and Law from Middlesex University. Her background includes teaching, research and consultancy across several areas of International Development, including Gender, Disaster Studies, Education, Climate Change, Political Economy and Social Justice. Her work sits at the intersection of academia, policy and practice, often employing critical, qualitative, and participatory approaches, interdisciplinary collaboration, and public engagement. Her PhD research, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the Environment Agency (EA), and Loughborough University, is developing a child-centred pedagogical approach for educating children and young people on flood risk.
