Sign up for our Middle Stage Skills Week running from 13 April

Bolster your skills with a week of training tailored to the middle phase of your doctorate.

Are you currently in the Middle Stage of your Doctorate, or just starting the Late Stage? We know this is a massively important time in your development as a researcher. That’s why the Doctoral College are putting on training over the course of a week that’s specifically designed to support you in this middle stage.

The sessions are split across several days, so we hope that you’re able to join as many sessions as you can. This is in response to hearing from our PGRs that it can be difficult to hold an entire day in your calendar for training.

Middle Stage: Introduction to Impact

Recharge your drive and rediscover your momentum with this energising workshop designed for PGRs navigating the challenging and opportunity‑filled middle stage of their doctorate. Step back, take stock, and leave with renewed clarity, confidence, and motivation to power through the journey ahead.

Middle Stage: Going outside (the university): Demonstrating your transferable skills beyond academia

Explore how to express your growing transferable skills in clear, engaging ways that connect with audiences beyond your academic field. This workshop supports you in identifying your strengths, understanding how they apply in wider contexts, and communicating your experience with confidence.
