Temp opportunity: Training Development Assistant

The Doctoral College are seeking applications from current Postgraduate Research programme students from all disciplines for our temporary Training Development Assistant position.
This role involves identifying and mapping the existing Master’s-level research methods modules at Queen Mary and liaising with school and institute Directors of Education to determine the feasibility of PGRs accessing these modules.
We have two key tasks outlined for this project:
Identifying existing Master’s research methods modules
Collating a list of current Master’s research methods modules, the school/institute which offers them, the module code, and any other pertinent information which helps us build a database of these modules.
Liaise with school/institute Directors of Education
Contact the Director of Education in each school/institute on behalf of the Doctoral College to determine the feasibility of PGRs accessing these modules.
There may also be other tasks related to this project that fall into the scope of this role which will arise from the completion of the tasks above.

- This role is temporary, spanning a 4-week period at 6 hours a week.
- The role will be supervised by Melanie Crisfield, Training Manager, in the Doctoral College at Queen Mary.

- Currently enrolled in a PGR programme in any subject at QM (essential).

Position details:
- Duration: 4 weeks, 6 hours a week, starting on 5 January 2026 and ending on 30 January 2026. Candidates must be available to work throughout the project timeframe.
- Compensation: Successful candidates will be employed as temporary workers through Q-Temps and will receive £17.22 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Work Arrangement: This will be a remote position with regular project progress reviews (via weekly meetings) scheduled throughout.
- Weekly Meetings: Weekly 30-min online project review meetings will be held with the project team to discuss progress, successes, and any barriers encountered.
