Comparative Literature Taster

When: Wednesday, November 2, 2022, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Online

Are you interested in studying literature, and other cultural forms, from around the world? Do you want to explore how texts, narratives and ideas travel across time and space? If so, Comparative Literature is the degree for you!

Fairy Tales as the Object of Comparison: some different aspects of a well-known fairy tale will be explored, showing how narratives can travel and adapt over time and to different locations in order to suit new cultural contexts. We will also consider how the genre of the fairy tale has developed.

This session will allow you to engage in comparative literature in action, and to compare texts across different linguistic traditions and historical periods.
