Emergency Medicine webinar: Trauma care in a challenging environment

We invite you to our upcoming webinar on Thursday 21 July, 6.30-7.30pm BST

Trauma Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, George Oosthuizen, will provide an overview of trauma care in Ngwelezana Hospital, Zululand, South Africa, arguing that good standard of care can be maintained in the developing world setting in spite of challenges.

You will also have a chance to meet Darryl Wood, a member of the Postgraduate Emergency Medicine programmes faculty, who will be hosting the webinar.

Speaker biography: George V. Oosthuizen MBChB, FCS(SA), FACS, PhD

General Surgeon, registered Trauma Surgeon. International instructor for the following trauma courses: EMST/ ATLS/ DSTC. Co-founder and co-convenor: Basic Trauma and Emergency Surgery course (Trauma Society of South Africa). Head of Surgery, Ngwelezana Hospital, Empangeni, South Africa. Honorary Senior Lecturer, University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa and Queen Mary University of London, England. Section Editor: JEVTM. Former Trauma Program Director: Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS) and former President: Trauma Society of South Africa.
