To celebrate International Women's Day, the School of Mathematical Sciences is organising a talk and for students and staff at Queen Mary. 

With a change to the scheduled programme, we will have a talk from Dr Claudia Garetto, Reader in Mathematics and EDI Lead for the School of Mathematical Sciences.

Title: The Mathematical Journey of Emmy Noether and Mary Somverville
Abstract: In this broad audience talk, I will give a survey on the life and mathematics of Emmy Noether and Mary Somerville, focusing on the historical and cultural difficulties they had to overcome.
