"Interrogating spatial heterogeneity of tissues: from multiplex images to downstream single-cell data "
DERI Seminar hosted by Vytautas Navikas
Do join us on Thursday 11th April at 11am (UK time). Please note this seminar will be on Teams only and the link is at the bottom of the invitation
Vytautas Navikas, Ph.D. is an Application Development Scientist focusing on developing tools for analyzing multiplex sequential immunofluorescence (seqIF™) images at Lunaphore. Lunaphore Technologies has developed an end-to-end solution for generating and analyzing hyperplex immunofluorescence images. The portfolio includes COMET™, the staining and imaging platform. COMET™ is a fully automated, high-throughput spatial multiomics platform that allows biomarker detection in histology slides. Outcome images are saved as multilayer OME-TIFF files, which are ready for downstream analysis.
Vytautas will present the latest research manuscript entitled “Semi-automated approaches for interrogating spatial heterogeneity of tissue samples”, recently published in Scientific Reports. The study highlights the use of open-source tools for semi-automated image data extraction, focusing on tumor microenvironment in lung cancer specimens. By employing the Lunaphore COMET™ platform and analyzing 20 biomarkers, followed by an optimized nuclei detection algorithm and a novel image artifact exclusion method, the study presents a workflow that simplifies multiplex image analysis at the single-cell level.
