About this project
The project is led by Professor Jonathan Crush, University Research Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Balsillie School of International Affairs in Canada. Based at Queen Mary, Professor Kavita Datta is a co-principal investigator, and Professor Tim Brown is a co-applicant on the project.
The R2 project is funded by the New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF), a Canadian government initiative established by the Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC). The NFRF is administered by the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat within the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), on behalf of Canada’s three federal research funding agencies.

R2 is embedded within the wider MiFood project. The goal of the MiFOOD Project is to design and implement a new and innovative high-impact global research and knowledge mobilization agenda focused on the neglected interactions between migration and food security within the Global South. MiFOOD originated from the Hungry Cities Partnership.
