R2 survey
We are currently conducting a survey for the Remitting for Resilience (R2) Project.
The R2 project looks at how families and communities in sub-Saharan Africa use the support they receive from loved ones—whether as money or food—to deal with the effects of climate change, like droughts or floods. We want to understand how these kinds of help, also known as remittances, can make people’s lives more secure and help them adapt to changing weather patterns. Your responses will help us learn how to strengthen these support systems in the future.
This survey, which focuses on the experiences of Zimbabwean migrants in the UK, is run by the team at Queen Mary University of London.
We are looking for participants who:
- are 18 years or older;
- have migrated from Zimbabwe to the UK, or are the child of someone who migrated from Zimbabwe to the UK; and
- have sent any money/food/goods to Zimbabwe since you or your family member moved away.
If this sounds like you, please consider completing our survey!
The survey will run from April 10th and can be accessed here or through the QR code.

For more details about the study, you can read the Participant information sheet [PDF 250KB].
Upon completion of the survey, you will be given the opportunity to participate in a prize draw as a thank you for your time and participation. The prize draw will involve 20 e-vouchers worth £50, which can be spent at a wide range of retailers. The winners of the vouchers will be selected at random. Once you submit your responses to the study, you will be asked to register your email for entry into the prize draw on a separate form - this will allow us to maintain the anonymity of your survey responses.
