Dr Davor Jancic cited by the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee
In its latest report entitled “From a Common Understanding to Common Ground: Building a UK-EU Strategic Partnership fit for the future” (3rd Report of Session 2024–26, HC 857, published on 6 March 2026), the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee cites the evidence submitted by Dr Davor Jancic, Reader in Law at Queen Mary University of London.

The Report highlights Dr Jancic’s assessment that the Government takes a centralised approach to EU policy and that negotiations across all areas are coordinated and led by the Cabinet Office.
This finding fed into one of the Report’s conclusions, namely the one emphasising the vitality of continued parliamentary scrutiny of the UK-EU relations given their impact, complexity and cross-cutting nature.
The overarching aim of this Report was to shape the debate on UK-EU relations after Brexit and scrutinise the Government’s approach to future negotiations with the EU.
