Queen Mary alumni deliver a Lawtalks session on Techlaw

Tech law is one of the fastest-moving areas of legal practice, but what does a career in this space really look like? To find out, we welcomed Queen Mary alumni working in legal tech to share how they built their careers, the challenges they faced, and their practical advice.

The event kicked off with a welcome from Julia Hörnle, Professor of Internet Law at Queen Mary University of London, and two presentations from Partners at Logan & Partners Law. The first, from founder Kelly Logan, introduced the firm and outlined how Kelly became a technology lawyer and built a tech law-focused law firm. Isadora Werneck delivered the second presentation where she shared her experience of qualifying in three jurisdictions: Brazil, Portugal and England & Wales.

These were followed by two panels. The first looked at careers in compliance with a focus on data protection and Techlaw. The second gathered alumni working in Tech development, especially AI for lawyers.

The session ended with a Q&A, followed by a chance to network with the speakers and guests. The event was sponsored and supported by Logans & Partners, based in Switzerland, London and Spain.
