Queen Mary professors ranked in top 40 of UK law scientists

Queen Mary University of London's Professor David Whyte and Professor Roger Cotterrell were placed in the top 40 of law scientists in the United Kingdom according to Research.com’s latest rankings.

Research.com identifies leading researchers using bibliometric indicators such as citation impact and publication output, placing those listed among the most influential scholars in their fields in the UK.

David Whyte, Professor of Climate Justice at Queen Mary, placed 32nd in the list. He primarily researches the relationship between law and corporate power across a range of contexts including climate justice and ecocide, corruption, and conflicts. According to Research.com he was cited 2,825 times. His most cited works included his co-authored book The Corporate Criminal: Why Corporations Must Be Abolished (Routledge) and his co-authored article Unmasking the Crimes of the Powerful, published in the Critical Criminology Journal by Springer.

Roger Cotterrell, Anniversary Professor of Legal Theory at Queen Mary, was placed 39th in the UK. He has published extensively in the fields of sociolegal theory and jurisprudence, as well as on the law of trusts, comparative law, criminology, and public law. Professor Cotterrell was cited 2,975 times, with his chapter on The Concept of Legal Culture in his book Law, Culture and Society (Taylor and Francis) and his book The Sociology of Law: An Introduction (OUP) being his most cited works.
