Criminal Justice Centre
The Criminal Justice Centre (CJC), based at Queen Mary University of London, provides a forum for research and learning in all aspects of criminal justice. Our members are drawn from both the legal profession and academia. Find out more about our work:

Criminal Justice Centre Interns researching at Graduate Centre, Mile End Campus.
We provide advice and training to the legal profession, governments and judiciaries, author key publications on criminal justice, engage with the media, undertake collaborative research, supervise postgraduate research and regularly host seminars, lectures, workshops and conferences. We have research and internship opportunities throughout the academic year. We are currently working on a diverse range of projects, including lawyers' perceptions of lay magistrates; defendants who are simultaneously victims of crime; technology, surveillance and criminal justice; genocide; and corporate violence.

In 2015 we launched the Criminal Justice LLM. This Masters’ level programme allows you to gain in-depth knowledge of the complexities of global justice. It provides a deep dive into how various legal systems – from international criminal law to domestic jurisdictions – intersect and interact. You will critically investigate the modern pressures on policymakers and practitioners as they navigate a world where crime and justice no longer stop at national borders and learn about the challenges that police, prosecutors, judges, victims and policymakers face in a global environment.
We regularly host visiting PhD researchers and academics at the Criminal Justice Centre. Find out you can become a Visiting Scholar or Researcher with us.
Queen Mary is one of the coordinating institutions of the European Criminal Academic Network (ECLAN), a network of researchers and academics engaging in EU criminal law across 32 countries.
