The visit marked an important milestone in the growing relationship between the two institutions, with colleagues from UIBE meeting staff from across the School and from the wider Faculty of Science and Engineering. During their time at Queen Mary, the delegation toured the Mathematics building and the Mile End campus, and took part in a programme of discussions and knowledge exchange.
The School shared an overview of its education, research and student support activities, highlighting opportunities for possible future international engagement and collaboration. Discussions also explored areas of mutual interest and the potential for future opportunities for students and staff.
Professor Jun Wen, Vice President of UIBE, and Professor Wen Wang, Queen Mary’s Vice President for Science and Engineering, exchanged views on academic collaboration, programme development and future cooperation between the two institutions.
The delegation expressed strong interest in the School’s expertise and research strengths, as well as enthusiasm for deepening ties between London and Beijing through continued collaboration.
