Legal advisory
The 52 students providing written legal advice to startups used their GenAI training to ensure the advice was clear and legally correct, and they remained compliant with the legal sector’s high professional duties, including confidentiality.
The advice …has [ensured] my start-up’s intellectual property and confidentiality are protected well.
Externships
Start-up founders who received legal help one day a week from a student placed within their business, and the 32 students who were being placed for 5 months, learned how best to work together in our first in-person kick-off meeting.
qLegal alum returns as supervisor
Former Fibe extern, Mavi Bezzi, was recruited by the start-up, who returned this year to welcome two new externs. Mavi enjoyed supervising them.
Public Legal Education
Start-ups and budding entrepreneurs attended eleven workshops delivered by qLegal students on topics from greenwashing to commercial contracts. This complemented free videos and written resources for start-ups, where students demystify the law.
Today was a resounding success, thanks to the engaging workshops hosted by qLegal.
Innovation Projects
Mixed teams of law, geography, linguistics and psychology students used Design Thinking to help our client, Green Tech Legal Collaborative, identify cross-cultural communication challenges between start-ups and City lawyers.

Academic Modules
This year’s new Public Legal Education and Legal Design modules mirrored the extracurricular programmes – but with added theory and assessments.

More feedback from the year:
[The] work delivered real business value… it helped us move forward on complex topics.
Having help with early stage legal research reduced the time and money we needed to spend
[I’m] just blown away by how useful [the students’ work] is going to be. They really understood the pain points.
