How is AI influencing which stories are preserved and which are erased? This seminar will consider the impact of AI on archives, oral histories, and storytelling traditions across digital and non-digital worlds.
Whose Voices and Stories? AI, Memory and Counter-Narratives
We will explore how AI shapes collective memory and the possibilities for counter-narratives. We’re delighted to be joined by Abdullah Safir, AI ethics and critical design researcher at the University of Cambridge; José Sherwood González, artist researcher and visual anthropologist, Manchester Metropolitan University; Ana P. Santos, independent journalist reporting on gender, migration, and labor; and Dr Isadora Cruxen, who will chair the session and brings expertise in political economy and participatory research across Latin America and Brazil.
