The School of Business and Management is pleased to announce an upcoming visit from Professor Anna Maria Paganoni, Lead of Data Strategy at Politecnico di Milano, who will join us as a CGR-SBM invited external speaker. Professor Paganoni will deliver an academic seminar entitled “The Data Strategy at Politecnico di Milano: Addressing the Dropout Problem.”
About the seminar
This seminar presents the research underpinning a major institutional initiative at Politecnico di Milano, led by Professor Paganoni, to tackle student dropout through data-driven strategies. The work has informed the activities of a dedicated taskforce and has already produced highly encouraging results. Thanks to Machine Learning algorithms, the University has been able to predict in advance which students are at risk of dropping out, allowing it to adopt targeted solutions, from personalized tutoring to psychological support, to help them overcome difficulties and successfully complete their academic path. The seminar therefore represents a strategically important opportunity for our School to engage with cutting-edge, impact-oriented research on student success and retention.
