An insightful Taster Event Masterclass for Year 12 and Year 13 students who are studying Physics and Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent).

Join us for an exciting exploration into particle physics at Queen Mary University of London. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about particle physics, experience university-level study, meet inspiring staff and students, and discover life at Queen Mary as part of our inclusive and welcoming community.

Event Highlights

As part of the event, you will participate in a hands-on PC-lab where you will perform measurements on real data from the Large Hadron Collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), discovering the world of quarks and leptons for yourself.

The event will also include:

  • An informational welcome talk about our Physics degree offering
  • Taster lectures delivered by our leading particle physics researchers
  • Insights into career pathways and student life in London
  • Opportunities to connect with current students and academics while exploring the campus and our facilities
  • Refreshments provided on the day
