Based in the heart of the capital, our campus is just 15 minutes from the City and Canary Wharf, offering direct access to the UK’s financial and professional services sectors.

You will benefit from our strong links with leading organisations such as PwC, one of the Big Four professional services firms, supporting pathways into corporate reporting, audit and assurance, compliance, taxation, and professional accountancy careers.

You don’t even have to leave campus. You’ll have access to Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS), specialist econometrics software and industry-standard datasets including Bloomberg and Eikon. Everything you need to polish your skills in analysis and data handling is right here.

The importance of ethical practice

The School of Business and Management value transparency and ethical accounting practices, integrity and accountability. These values are reflected in our research.

As the gender gap in accountancy is becoming a hot topic, our teaching staff are bringing awareness and bridging the gender gap within these professions. Others are investigating new accounting phenomena and political issues.

With the increasing complexity of financial markets and the integration of technology, graduates in this field are in high demand. Follow in the footsteps of our past students who now work at EY, CBRE, Deloitte, and more.

Professional recognition

The School of Business and Management has strong links with professional accountancy bodies: the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). This course is accredited by ACCA, CIMA and the ICAEW. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to apply for exemptions with these organizations, enhancing your pathway to professional accreditation.

Testimonial

"I chose to study BSc Accounting and Finance as I knew I wanted to work in Accounting in the future. I liked the fact that the knowledge and skills taught on this course were more practical and could be directly transferred into real-world applications. A particular lecturer who stood out to me was Dr Panos Panagiotopoulos. His passion for teaching and his enthusiasm, whenever I asked for any help with projects, made me look forward to every lecture and seminar with him. I joined through clearing after falling short academically in my A-Levels, but I leave as an academic prize winner, a fact I am extremely proud of."
