Postgraduate Research Fund
The Queen Mary Postgraduate Research Fund is open to all Postgraduate Research students at Queen Mary and is designed to support travel and other expenses (although not consumables and equipment) related to the student’s doctoral studies. Applications to the Fund will be assessed by a panel of senior colleagues from across the University (two per faculty). The panel will normally assess applications a couple of weeks after the deadline, and both applicants and schools/institutes will be informed of the results. Funds will only be reimbursed to awardees after they have made the initial payment themselves and have submitted to their School/Institute the expenses claim form together with receipts.
Queen Mary Expense Claim Form for successful applicants (to be submitted to department/school/institute together with receipts/evidence of payment in order to claim the award).
For further information on claiming expenses please see our PGR Finance Guidance page. Any enquiries should be addressed to qmpgrf@qmul.ac.uk.

How to apply
Completed applications need to be received by the above deadlines, including supervisor statements. Once the applicant section is submitted, your supervisor will be emailed a request and link to complete their recommendation. We recommend allowing at least 10 working days after submitting the applicant section for your supervisor to complete the final submission.
No late or incomplete applications will be accepted. We will not follow up on incomplete applications; you will need to ensure your supervisor submits their section ahead of the deadline. Ensure you read all the guidance before completing the application form.
Applications submitted outside the normal panel meeting windows will only be considered in exceptional circumstances, such as interruption to studies. PGRF applications should be submitted at the same time as conference applications; waiting until confirmation of conference acceptance before submitting a PGRF application may mean missing the relevant deadline.
