Your New Library Search is live

Real Research Starts Here: Cutting-edge Library Search Launches

Published:

You told us that it’s sometimes difficult to find the information you need through Library Search. In response, Library Services has been working hard to make searching for essential resources for your studies much easier.

Introducing the innovative new Library Search which brings books and online resources together in one place. It features a single sign-on, meaning you no longer need to enter your PIN to log in, and a more modern, intuitive interface designed to make searching simpler.

Queen Mary Library Services has now joined other prestigious institutions such as the British Library and Senate House Library, which have also launched the same cutting-edge search platform in recent months. Notably, Queen Mary Library Services are currently the only UK university library to use the most up-to-date version, prioritising accessibility and improved search results.

We would like to thank the staff and students who provided feedback to the Library Services team during the development of the new system. Special thanks to those of you who voted on the design of the landing page - the more colourful Option B won by a landslide - and to the students who tested the product before launch and shared their thoughts. Your feedback played an important role in shaping how the final system looks and functions.

Online training sessions on the new system are now available to book for both staff and students.

If you have questions, you can email the library at library@qmul.ac.uk, contact us via live chat from the library website or speak to a member of staff at one of our three library locations, including Mile End Library, Whitechapel Library and West Smithfield Library.
