Dr. Ugo Offor is a seasoned anatomical scientist and medical educator with over a decade of international experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He currently serves as Senior Lecturer in Anatomy at Queen Mary University of London, Malta Campus, where he also co-leads core medical modules. His academic credentials include a PhD in Anatomy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), along with earlier degrees in Medical Science and Human Anatomy from institutions in South Africa and Nigeria. He earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of the Witwatersrand, where he was nominated for the 2023 Vice Chancellor’s Team-Teaching Award.
Dr. Offor teaching career spans several academic institutions, including the University of the Witwatersrand, the University of Limpopo, and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he held full-time lecturer roles, module leadership responsibilities, and unit headships. He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, integrating Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, and Applied Anatomy into both traditional and problem-based learning formats. Dr. Offor is proficient in digital education platforms like Blackboard Collaborate and Ulwazi, and he is skilled in Team-Based Learning (TBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodologies.
His research focuses on the intersections of diabetes mellitus, neurodegenerative disorders, and andrology, exploring molecular mechanisms of therapeutic compounds. He has received multiple research grants and awards, including Best Anatomy Lecturer. A committed academic leader, he coordinates programs, mentors researchers, reviews for top journals, and actively contributes to international anatomical associations and institutional development.
