On the day
Our step-by-step guide walks you through where you need to be on the day, and what time. There's also guidance on gowning, how to find us, photography and other tips that will ensure you can relax.
Your graduation day is the culmination of all your hard work, and we hope you and your guests have a brilliant day celebrating your achievements. It’s a lot of fun, but also very busy. With this in mind, the guide below goes through the day and provides instructions for each step.
Step 1
Check in at Queen Mary Malta Campus main reception between 3:00pm and 5:00pm. Present your student ID to receive your tickets. Ensure that each one of your guests receives their ticket.
Step 2
Head to the Lecture Theatre on Ground Floor to collect your gown. Following this, proceed to Lecture Hall A for photography. Please ensure that your guests remain with you during gowning and photography.
Step 3
Proceed to the main lobby on Ground Floor to join the afternoon reception. This will be your opportunity to mingle with your peers and take some photos with friends and family to share on social media using #QMULMaltaGraduation.
Step 4
At 6:00pm we ask you to prepare yourself and your guests to board the shuttle service that will be available just outside the main entrance of the campus which will take you and your guests to the Citadel for the graduation ceremony.
Step 5
Upon arrival at the Citadel, please proceed to the green room. Staff members will be around to guide you accordingly. This will also be a time where professional photos will be taken.
Step 6
It’s time to find your place in the student procession. Members of staff will be around to guide you accordingly. Please listen to the instructions given so that you find your place and remain in the assigned spot in the procession.
Step 7
When prompted, proceed to the citadel square in procession format and as guided by members of staff so we can start the graduation ceremony on time, at 7:30pm.
Step 8
Celebrate with your friends and family at our evening reception which will include a live band and a buffet dinner. Don’t forget to take some photos against the backdrop that we will have prepared for you and post on social media.
Step 9
Visit the Alumni stand and pick up your complimentary gifts.
Step 10
Please return your gown at the designated area before you leave the reception area. You are now a Queen Mary graduate, congratulations!
