All applications must be made via our application portal, which can be found on our “Apply” pages once the application period opens.
Partners, programme providers and agents can request “Agent Access” which allows you to log into the application portal, view your students’ applications or submit applications on their behalf. If you would like to request Agent Access, please contact study-abroad@qmul.ac.uk.
We aim to process applications within two weeks of submission; however, this may take longer in busy periods.
Programme providers: Please do not attempt to submit applications outside of our application periods on the portal. Please contact study-abroad@qmul.ac.uk if you would like us to consider a late application.
The academic requirement for our programmes is 3.0/4.0 or international equivalent. Please contact study-abroad@qmul.ac.uk in advance of nomination/application should you have a student who does not meet these requirements so we can advise further.
The standard academic credit load for a semester only student at Queen Mary University of London is 60 Queen Mary credits (four modules). Students may take a reduced load of 45 Queen Mary credits (three modules) with the permission of their home university, and will still be considered a full-time student.
Students registered for fewer than three modules will be classified as part-time, and such a credit load is only possible when a student is registered with a programme provider for their remaining modules.
Overloading (taking 75 Queen Mary credits/five modules) will be considered on a case by case basis, and will incur an additional fee. Students interested in the possibility of overloading should contact study-abroad@qmul.ac.uk.
We have put together comprehensive instructions on how to use our Module Directory, please have a read through this carefully ahead of advising students. If you have any questions or are unsure of any of the guidance, please drop us an email on study-abroad@qmul.ac.uk.
Once students are made an offer to study at Queen Mary, they will be subscribed to our Countdown to Queen Mary newsletters. These newsletters will be sent prior to their arrival and will include all the important information, guidance and next steps to prepare them for their programme.
All Countdown newsletters will be shared on our Pre-Arrival Information webpages, however if you would like to receive a copy directly please email study-abroad@qmul.ac.uk so we can add you to our mailing list. Exchange partners will be able to include an email to receive the Countdown newsletters in the nomination form.
Our US based colleague, Ashley Gordon, is happy to deliver bespoke information sessions or pre-arrival events either online or in-person where possible. Please contact her directly to discuss your requirements.
Queen Mary is pleased to offer a wide range of housing options for eligible students. Currently, housing is only available to fee-paying and non-European exchange students, however European exchange students will be invited to apply if there is sufficient availability.
In-depth information can be found on our Housing and Queen Mary Residences webpages.
Programme providers: If you wish to receive a list of all your students and their housing allocations and/or order bedding packs, please contact our colleagues in Housing Services who will be able to assist. Please include your students’ Queen Mary ID number(s).
Students have access to the Disability and Dyslexia Service (DDS), which offers support for all students at Queen Mary with disabilities, specific learning difficulties and mental health issues. Queen Mary is committed to ensuring that all its facilities are fully accessible. Students will be contacted by DDS directly if they have declared a disability or condition on their application form, otherwise they can self-refer on the DDS website.
Transcripts are issued to students, partners and programme providers via GradIntelligence, a secure transcript delivery service similar to Student Clearing House or Parchment. We do not issue hard copies of transcripts or send them via email.
Partners and programme providers are set up with their own accounts to allow them to view and download their students’ transcripts and will receive automatic email notifications once new transcripts are ready to access. If you do not currently have a GradIntelligence account or would like to update your institution’s details, please contact us on study-abroad@qmul.ac.uk and we will assist accordingly.
Students will be given their own account details and will be able to send their transcripts to third parties electronically.
Semester 1 (Autumn/Fall) only transcripts are released in mid-February, Semester 2 (Spring) only and Full Year transcripts are released in mid-July.
