Scientists create the first 3D nanoscale maps of human airway epithelium, revealing the hidden architecture of lung defence cells

This figure illustrates the proposed framework, which integrates GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System ) with DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) to enhance positioning in complex environments. GNSS provides satellite-based navigation, while DAS reuses existing optical fibres as distributed sensors via an interrogator connected to cellular infrastructure.

The BISCUIT Study: Sleep, Cognition and Wellbeing in Childhood Brain Injury

School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences

Following a traumatic brain injury, some children recover quickly, while others experience longer-lasting difficulties with areas such as attention, memory and behaviour. Researchers still do not fully understand why recovery of these skills varies between children, what role sleep difficulties play in this process, or how best to support children and families following injury.
