Profile

Dr Maariyah Y. Suleman is a Teaching fellow and the Director of Outreach and Engagement for the Department of Chemistry.

Maariyah has over 5 years of experience delivering outreach events and is passionate about widening participation at all levels. Events delivered and organised by Maariyah have included taster days, Spectroscopy Masterclasses, Residential Chemistry Summer Schools and the Lambeth Country Show.

Maariyah’s research background focuses on green chemistry to find sustainable solutions for global challenges. In addition to this, Maariyah’s educational research focusses on using technologies such as virtual and augmented reality to support teaching and learning.
