Being selected as a Technology Enhanced Learning Team (TELT) Student Ambassador at Queen Mary University of London has been one of the most rewarding and insightful experiences of my time at university. It has given me the opportunity to engage directly with innovative approaches to learning and to contribute to projects that enhance the digital learning experience for both students and staff.
The TELT initiative at Queen Mary plays a vital role in promoting the integration of technology into teaching and learning. As a student ambassador, I was able to support this vision by helping to develop engaging and accessible learning environments that truly reflect the needs and voices of students. The experience allowed me to explore how digital tools can foster inclusivity, collaboration, and creativity within higher education.
Throughout my journey, I had the privilege of working with an exceptional team whose guidance and support made the experience both inspiring and fulfilling. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Annette and John, whose encouragement, patience, and mentorship helped me develop confidence in my role and a deeper understanding of educational technology. Their commitment to student engagement and digital innovation was a constant source of motivation.
A special thanks also goes to Abi, whose efforts during Welcome Week made the experience especially memorable. Her warm and welcoming approach created a space where new students could connect, learn, and feel a genuine sense of belonging within the Queen Mary community.
Beyond professional growth, my time as a TELT ambassador was also a chance to network with peers and staff, exchange ideas, and build lasting friendships. Collaborating with others who share a passion for technology-enhanced learning was both inspiring and empowering. It reminded me how powerful teamwork and open communication can be in driving positive change within our university environment.
This experience has strengthened my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while deepening my appreciation of how technology can transform education. It has inspired me to continue advocating for innovative and inclusive learning practices that ensure every student can reach their full potential.
Looking back, I feel proud and grateful to have contributed to such a forward-thinking initiative. The TELT programme at Queen Mary embodies the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines our university. I am honoured to have played a small part in its ongoing mission to enhance learning through technology.
Thank you to the entire TELT team for your guidance, support, and commitment to empowering students like me to be active partners in shaping the future of education.
