On 29th October, Annette, together with Richard Chantler, hosted the very first TELT Lunch and Learn for students. Designed especially for new students preparing to submit their first assignment on QMplus, the session provided a welcoming and supportive space for students to build confidence, explore the submission process, and have their questions and concerns addressed. We’re thrilled to share that the session was a great success, and an important milestone in helping our newest learners feel confident and supported as they begin their academic journey.
The session offered a friendly, hands-on introduction to submitting assignments in QMplus. With the presentation led and supported by some of our brilliant student ambassadors, the session covered:
- Practical tips for submitting assignments on QMplus
- A live walk-through of the submission process
- Understanding the Turnitin Similarity Score
- Discussion around out how students use AI
Students had the chance to experience a QMplus submission in real time, ask questions, and leave feeling much more prepared for their upcoming assessments. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with students saying the session gave them more confidence in submitting assignments and helped demystify the Turnitin Similarity Report.
A big thank you to Richard Chantler and HSS for being part of this incentive, generously providing lunch and helping to promote the event.
We’re already planning our next TELT Student Lunch and Learn session for December 2025, where we’ll be helping students prepare for their exams, including how they can make the most of the features of Q-Review for effective revision. We’d love to welcome even more students next time!
