How to use BLOC for research

What we do

BLOC can be used by researchers across QMUL in multiple ways for research projects including:

  • Hosting internal QMUL forums focused on kick-starting research bids and scoping activity
  • A technically supported laboratory focusing on moving image, live performance and sound within an immersive and networked lab environment, costed in QMUL research bids to external funders
  • A laboratory resource available to external universities and research-based organisations outside of QMUL
  • In-kind support for research projects involving funders that do not cover overheads
  • Research project legacy work and impact generation, for example recording podcasts and hosting events
  • Hosting events for research centres, clusters and post-graduate researchers
  • Production services and technical expertise, for example in delivering materials for dissemination (such as DCP authoring; live streaming facilities; Dolby atmos rendering; multiscreen exhiibition)
