Financial Support

Appointed Barts DTP PhD students will be supported for 4-year by:

  • A tax-free annual stipend of £28,700 (2026/2027, increasing in subsequent years).
  • Paid tuition fees (QMUL home student rate).
  • Research consumables costs for their project (up to £35,000 over the duration of the project).
  • Opportunity to apply to the Barts DTP’s ‘Additional Research Training & Student Experience Fund’
  • Opportunity to apply to the Barts DTP for conference travel (up to £1,000 per student).

Student will also receive a laptop suitable for their research from Queen Mary University of London and be able to apply to the University’s Postgraduate Research Fund for additional conference travel funding.
