Architecture governance ensures technology decisions are aligned, secure and sustainable.
Our governance framework ensures that technology investments are strategic, sustainable, and integrated. Through collaboration, engagement and a series of specialised boards and reviews, we provide the oversight necessary to manage risk while maintaining alignment with the University’s long-term digital vision.
How we do this
Provides early architectural input and triage for all new initiatives, assessing feasibility, architectural impact and appropriate governance routing. This is basically a "front door" to Enterprise Architecture where we assess business problems or opportunities seeking a technology solution.

Evaluates significant technology proposals and architectural changes, applying proportionate governance based on risk, impact and business criticality.
Provides service definition (SDD) governance and assurance, ensuring services are correctly defined and architecturally sound before progressing.
Advises on the architectural impact of proposed changes, ensuring consistency with approved designs and enterprise direction.
Conducts proportionate architectural reviews during delivery to identify risk and ensure alignment without over‑governance.
Assesses initiatives for alignment with institutional strategy, technology roadmaps and long‑term sustainability.
Provides architectural assurance across the lifecycle from initial idea through delivery, change and retirement.
