Your Journey

My entrepreneurial journey actually started with my tutoring business. I loved teaching but struggled to find clients. I didn’t know how to reach the right people until my son casually mentioned that “everyone’s on social media.” That simple comment led me down the rabbit hole of social media marketing.

The biggest challenge was admitting that I didn’t have all the answers, especially as a primary teacher, where you’re expected to be the expert in the room.  But letting go of that pride became my greatest lesson. I had to learn how to market myself, attract clients online, and eventually, I was able to teach others to do the same.

That process evolved into Clockflower Solutions and the most rewarding full-circle moment came when we were recognised as Social Media Educator of the Year. Proof that the best teachers never stop learning.

The Power of Community

The support from other entrepreneurs has been invaluable. You really do need cheerleaders in your corner, people who understand the highs, the doubts, and the balancing act that comes with building something from scratch.

From the Digital Women community, to entrepreneurial parent groups and Black entrepreneur networks, each has played a vital role in my journey by offering advice, encouragement and accountability.

That same spirit inspired me to create my own community, the Clockflower Collective, a space where underrepresented entrepreneurs and professionals can grow their visibility, confidence, and support one another through every stage of the journey.

I’m now excited to reconnect with the Queen Mary network and continue building alongside others who are equally passionate about collaboration, creativity and impact.
