3-month industrial internship

All students will undertake a 3-month industrial placement with one of our software, AI or biotech partners in their second or third year – to develop entrepreneurial awareness - working on short company projects focused on applying AI to commercial products.

CASE Award Option

One quarter of the studentships offered by the DFA will be Collaborative Awards in Science and Engineering (CASE). This type of PhD studentship integrates academic research with training and experience in a non-academic setting, such as industry. DFA CASE student’s projects will be co-developed with the partner organisation giving directly relevance to commercial or public sectors. They will incorporate longer term placement (3 to 18 months) and co-supervision from staff within the industrial or other partner.
