Professorial Review

Professorial Review

Each year, Queen Mary conducts a review of its professoriate. The aims of this process are to review the individual progress and contributions of Professors, with a view to determining areas for future organisational development and to recognise individual achievements.

There are four steps in this review process:

  • Each individual professor’s own submission
  • Review / commentary by the Head of School / Director of Institute on each submission form and completion of a School / Institute Overview form
  • Faculty review
  • University wide review by the Senior Executive Team (SET)

For information on how the review is conducted and to find out if you are eligible to make a submission, please read the Professorial Review Guidelines:

2025 - 2026 Professorial Review Guidelines [PDF 240KB]

To make your submission, please complete the first section of the Professorial Review Submission Form:

2025 - 2026 Professorial Review Individual Submission Form [DOC 98KB]

Please refer to the Academic Careers Framework for details of each Area of Contribution at professorial level:

Academic Careers Framework [PDF 15,902KB]

Submissions must be sent via email to your Head of School or Institute Director by close of business on Tuesday 5 May 2026.

Each Head of School and Institute Director should complete an Overview form for their School / Institute, in addition to including their commentary on each Professorial Review Submission Form:
